The NGT 2018 is the unique opportunity to promote organ donation and transplantation through a beach walk on Friday afternoon, 13th July.
Contact has been made with the following organisations and persons to become partners in this venture which they fully support at this stage:

The Organ Donor Foundation of SA and the Sunflower Fund do not have branches or representatives in Port Elizabeth and an effort will be made to elicit their support.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Organ donor and Transplantation Steps Challenge 2018
The Regional Organising Committee is also very excited to announce
the launch of the above initiative. It is planned that up to 125 Teams
of 4 participants will take part in this 90-day event during which the
daily number of steps of each participant and the Team will be
registered.

Starting on Monday 9th April 2018 and running until Saturday
7th July 2018. There will be a prize for the individual with the most steps and also a Trophy for the Team with the highest number of steps. The results will be announced at the Gala Dinner after the Games.
We are hoping that schools in the greater Port Elizabeth and even further afield will also enter a team and we will award a Trophy for the school with the highest number of steps.
The idea of the Steps Challenge is to promote an active life style and to get recipients, families and friends to promote organ donation and through that help to improve the transplantation rate in South Africa. More information will be made available during a Media Release on 17th March 2018.
