Venue: Summerstrand (in front of hotel) to Schoenmakerskop and back
Distance: 30km race

Medical: NMU Emergency vehicle & Ambulance
Safety: No road closures necessary. Safety car in front and ambulance following at the rear.
Metro & Traffic Police will be consulted about further requirements.
Water point: Will be manned by volunteers/NMU students at turning point
Spectators: The route makes it possible for spectators to support all along the promenade for about 3km
ROAD RACE
Venue: Summerstrand (in front of hotel) to Kings Beach and back on the promenade. See Cycling map for the starting point for the road race event.
Distance: 5km race
Officials: Park Run officials
Medical: NMBM or Events Support Services
Safety: Emergency vehicle at start with volunteers/NMU students lining the route as observers. They will be in cell phone contact with the emergency personnel. No road closures necessary because athletes stay on the promenade.
Water point: Will be manned by volunteers/NMU students at Kings Beach point.
Spectators: The route makes it possible for spectators to support all along the promenade for the whole extent of the race
GOLF
Venue: Port Elizabeth Golf Club – more traditional course than the Humewood links course

The Lighthouse ten pin bowling club offered to rope-off an area with enough lighting as a darts venue.

Lanes: 12 lanes in total – booked 5 lanes at R57 for two games/person

Field events: High jump, long jump, shot put, discus and javelin with proper tartan run-ups, designated rings with nets and all other necessary safety features
Ball throw will take place in the centre arena
